KCC Board of Governors
The KCC Board of Governors is a representative group of fellow members that work hard to implement ideas for a better KCC.

Greg Blix, President
Term Expires 2010
Dr. Gregor Blix completed his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Chemistry at Augustana College, Rock Island, Illinois in 1981. He received his medical degree from the University of Illinois Medical School in 1985. While at the University of Illinois Medical School he completed externships at the Cleveland Clinics Hospital, Sloane-Kettering Institute, and Kings College Hospital (London, England). He completed his surgical internship and his urologic residency at the University of Chicago Hospitals and Clinics in 1990. Upon completion of his training in 1990, Dr. Blix joined HealthCare Midwest. Dr. Blix is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).  Dr. Blix, M.D. has published professional articles in Urology and other journals. He is a member of several medical societies including the American Medical Association, the Michigan State Medical Society, the Kalamazoo Academy of Medicine, and the Western Michigan Urological Association.

Bobbie Lam, Vice President

Bobbie Lam (with husband Blaine) has lived in the Kalamazoo area for 39 years, moving here after graduating from the University of Colorado in 1969. She has been a member at KCC for the past 22 years. Bobbie taught elementary school before raising three boys: Brian, Bill and Brett. She taught adult education part-time before she and Blaine began their community relations business, Lam and Associates, in 1987. Although she enjoys golf, Bobbie's first love is the racquet sports - tennis and platform tennis - and she has served on the Racquet Sports Committee for many years. With the recent exciting renovations complete, she looks forward to being part of the process that keeps KCC the quality club that it is.



Michele C. Marquardt, Counsel
Michele is an attorney with DeMent and Marquardt, PCC, and has been a KCC Member for nine years. She is married to her husband James of 16 years and they have one son, Drew, a freshman at Loy Norrix and KAMSC. In her free time, Michele enjoys running, golf and travel.

 

 


Tom Schlueter, Treasurer

Tom Schlueter Moved to Kalamazoo in 1966 and graduated from WMU in 1978 with BBA in Accounting; worked for First of America Bank (now National City Bank) in Kalamazoo from 1976 to 1998; employed at Keystone Community Bank since 1998 and have been President & CEO since October 2005; Two children; Kevin is in Culinary Management at Grand Rapids Community College and Laura is in Interior Design at Harrington College of Design in Chicago, Illinois. I've been at KCC for six years, I recently participated in the Design Committee for the recently-completed renovation. Other current community activities include; Greater Kalamazoo United Way Finance Committee Member; Heritage Community of Kalamazoo Board Member & Past President; American Red Cross Kalamazoo Area Chapter Board Member & Finance Committee Member; and City of Kalamazoo Economic Development Corporation/Brownfield Redevelopment Authority Member. KCC Outlook; In my years at KCC, I've found it to be a great place to play golf and spend time with friends, as well as entertain clients; the staff has always been awesome and it's been a special place to bring guests, as it always looks so great; I look forward to being a member for many years to come and maintaining the high quality of the club that people have come to expect.

Jerry Miller

Jerry attended Harvard University and graduated in 1968 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He then attended the University of Michigan and graduated in 1971 with a professional doctorate in law. For 20 year. Jerry began practicing law in 1971 in Kalamazoo and has been a successful businessman ever since. In the past, Jerry has served as a membr of the YMCA Board of Directors, as well as a member of the YMCA Board of Trustees. He currently sits on the Kalamazoo Valley Community College Foundation Board of Directors, the Gilmore International Keyboard Festival Board of Trustees, and is the current chairman of the Bronson Health Foundation Board of Directors. Jerry enjoys spending his time with his wife Susan, his five children Christopher, Carol, Molly, Connor, Emily, and also his pet dog.

Ron Stephens
Term Expires 2011
Ron Stephens and his wife, Harriet, have been active members of KCC for the past 25 years. Ron holds a Business Administration degree from Western Michigan University and a J.D. degree from the University of Michigan. He is currently of counsel with the Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids law firm of Miller Johnson, where he has maintained a practice in the areas of business, finance and real estate for over 25 years. Before beginning his legal career, Ron spent 10 years in business, working with both large and small companies, including five years in brand management with Procter and Gamble in Cincinnati, two years managing a building supply company in Kalamazoo, and three years in real estate sales during the time he attended law school. Ron and Harriet have three adult children, one of whom, Theresa Luzenske, resides in Kalamazoo and is a teacher at Hackett Catholic Central. Both Ron and Harriet have been involved with a number of community organizations and professional associations since returning to Kalamazoo.

Simone Riggs
Term Expires 2012
Simone and her husband Jeff have been members of KCC since 2005. She holds a Masters degree in social work as well as in Business Administration. Before moving to Kalamazoo, Simone lived in Ann Arbor, where she was a supervisor in clinical work. She enjoys spending time with her family which includes her two sons, Isaac and Ian. Simone is very active in the ladies' golf and tennis programs and is looking forward to being a board member for a club that she greatly enjoys.

 

 

 

Cathy Todd, Secretary

Cathy is a long time member of KCC with a rich family tradition.  She has been involved in many committees over the years.  Her dedication and time commitment to our club has help us achieve profitability with the Invitational and an attitude of engagement from families.  She is an inspiration and a breath of fresh air to any event.
